We will email you the results within 7-8 business days after the lab receives your sample. Hard copies will be received within 15 business days.
Each test comes with a 30 minute assessment with an ALCAT nutritionist. They will ?review your results, discuss with you your rotational diet, when to re-introduce reactive foods, and answer any questions you have.
Please check with your insurance provider regarding coverage and process for filing claims. Reference procedure code 83516. The ALCAT test is not reimbursed by Medicare, Medicaid and other federally funded programs.
The ALCAT Test is NOT a food allergy test. It is designed to test for intolerances, which have a delayed reaction.
The blue boxes include items that should be removed from the diet due to reactions with other items.
It is not necessary to postpone testing if, despite medication use, inflammatory symptoms persist. However, to the extent medication can be reduced prior to testing, the patient should do so, as anti-inflammatory medications may have an effect on test results. Do not take any medications 3 to 4 hours before blood draw. Anti-rejection therapy will probably reduce test sensitivity.
