How long will it take to obtain my ALCAT Test Results?
We will email you the results within 7-8 business days after the lab receives your sample. Hard copies will be received within 15 business days.

How much support is available after testing?
Each test comes with a 30 minute assessment with an ALCAT nutritionist. They will  review your results, discuss with you your rotational diet, when to re-introduce reactive foods, and answer any questions you have.

Is the test covered by my insurance?
Please check with your insurance provider regarding coverage and process for filing claims. Reference procedure code 83516. The ALCAT test is not reimbursed by Medicare, Medicaid and other federally funded programs.

Is this a food allergy test?
The ALCAT Test is NOT a food allergy test. It is designed to test for intolerances, which have a delayed reaction.

What do the blue boxes on the ALCAT Test results mean?
The blue boxes include items that should be removed from the diet due to reactions with other items.

Is fasting required before taking the ALCAT Test?
No

What are the medication restrictions for the ALCAT Test?
It is not necessary to postpone testing if, despite medication use, inflammatory symptoms persist. However, to the extent medication can be reduced prior to testing, the patient should do so, as anti-inflammatory medications may have an effect on test results. Do not take any medications 3 to 4 hours before blood draw. Anti-rejection therapy will probably reduce test sensitivity.
